VIDEOBRASIL ONLINE

An online exhibition platform developed to extend the reach of video works made in the Global South and offer new ways of accessing this repertoire.

The online exhibition is part of the Curatorial Cycle, a project that also includes a video essay and a public programme, designed to broaden the circulation of the Videobrasil Historical Archive and the dissemination of art from the Global South.

Curated by Bitu Cassundé, this edition is dedicated to the Ethiopian artist Ezra Wube. The programme comprises an online exhibition of Wenzu (2011), Hidirtina (2018) and The Anthropocene Comedy (2022); a critical analysis presented in video form by the curator; and a projection of Hidirtina onto the blank exterior wall of Museu de Arte Contemporânea da USP (MAC USP), as an urban occupation.
